Especially in the summer, when our busy schedules are filled with events and we are often on the go, a healthy diet and exercise can quickly slide to the bottom of my priority list. Although I like to enjoy the occasional ice cream on a hot day, I know that moving my body and stocking up on nutritious foods makes me feel better — something I often have to remember during such a busy season. Fortunately, everyone on our team shares my goal of leading a healthy lifestyle, so we share tips and encourage each other often. Consider this post a preview of a conversation in our office! We are not experts, but we all try to take care of our body and mind as best we can. What are your favorite exercises in the summer?

Thomas and I like to go out at this time of year and have normal classes that we do. We get up very early to play tennis before the summer sun gets too hot or for a long walk on a weekend morning. Recently we spent more time on the beach and went knee-deep in the water, parallel to the coast, for a little extra training. This is actually a great exercise for the legs, and it also cools you down! – Julia

I have a five-year-old human alarm clock, so get up early (even on Saturday morning), because the coolest part of the day is given to us! After a quick breakfast, my Son and I put on our tennis clothes and go out on the court. I hit him with three baskets of balls and he hit me with one. Repeat. It’s a good workout and a great opportunity to bond with my son and share with him something I loved when I was a young girl. – Paige

I spend the first hours of the morning and evening of each day with my dog on a walk in the neighborhood. This is a large laboratory that works quite quickly, so I usually have a good education. It’s a wonderful way to spend time with him and we feel a little more relaxed. Judie.

What is your favorite active way to spend a summer day?

I imagine an active and fun weekend day with a morning walk, a bike ride in the early afternoon, kayaking at a certain time of the day and an evening tennis match with friends to finish. However, sometimes when I engage my mind in a different way, I feel as active as exercise. I spent more time bringing a sketchbook to the gardens in my area, observing and following the flowers. I’m planning to take some watercolors and paint outside to start a square aerial view, so that would be another way to spend an active day. – Daisy Island

Thomas and I start and end almost every day with a walk. On weekdays, it usually takes 15 to 20 minutes for our body to move and pump our blood before we are ready and go to work. Since the days are longer in the summer, we can always catch a sunset after leaving the office, which is always a good excuse to go out again. I also like to go to the beach on a hot day; that way I can cool you off in the ocean when I’m too hot. And swimming in the water is the best thing to do during pregnancy. – Julia

Two years means that every day is active! Our typical summer Saturday consists of walking to the playground, kicking a soccer ball in the backyard and setting up our inflatable pool — Minnidip makes the cutest pools that are suitable for toddlers and design-conscious parents.
